So I have changed it a bit - or enough - to make it a healthy dish and apt to fall into temptation without feeling a remorse of miaja. Instead of using purchased or normal ice cream (with your cream, eggs and everything), we are going to do it at home in an even easier way than this, that is to say. You only need bananas and a food processor, knife chopper or similar device. It seems a lie but look, look at the cover photo and check the filthy creaminess of those ice cream balls: they are made only with banana, cocoa and strawberries. Hallucinate, neighbor.

The mystery is to cut the banana into slices, freeze and crush them. And period Although at first you doubt, a person of little faith, you will see how suddenly the mass of frozen stumps turns into a thick and creamy cream, like a slightly melted ice cream. You can leave it as is, in banana ice cream without more, or add other ingredients at that time to get a taste of vanilla, cocoa, spices or other fruits. Half a kilo of banana leaves about seven beautiful ice cream balls, more if you add frozen strawberries or raspberries, as is the case, or several tablespoons of pure cocoa powder.

Can I go crazy and throw everything I want to this magical ice cream? It depends. The fruit, which is very good with mango, must be integrated in the same way as the banana, frozen in slices or small pieces. With dry ingredients like cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla or nuts there is no limit, but with creamy or liquid. Do not even think about pouring normal sugar (either white or brown), if you want it to taste sweeter because the cold lowers the sweetness to everything: better try a little honey, maple syrup or other sugars in a liquid state. Putting cream or yogurt is unnecessary, because this ice cream is creamy in itself, and in case you do it and want to freeze it again for consistency, you may have to crush it again to recover its original texture.

Bananas are normally opened in half and raw, but you can also fry them or caramelize them in a pan with a spoonful of sugar. Of course, then we move away from the 0% sugar target, but hey, we will turn a blind eye. Instead of cream I put yogurt, but feel free to do whatever you want, more would be missing. Cherries are the literal icing on the dessert, but it also admits strawberries, chopped pineapple, peach, and of course, caramel or chocolate syrup like this one we made for pancakes and that can be stored in the fridge for vice access.

Have previously prepared bananas and accompaniments, to eat fresh ice cream or with very little time in the freezer after crushing, so that it does not become hard.

Preparation

To make ice cream

Peel the bananas and cut them into round sheets of similar thickness (0.5 cm, for example). Reserve approximately 100 grams to make strawberry ice cream.

Put the banana pieces in a taper, putting plastic flim between layer and layer so that they do not stick or stick together. Freeze at least 3 hours.

Do the same with strawberries and freeze them with 100 g of reserved banana.

Take out the banana and mash it in a food processor, Thermomix or chopper. At first it will cost a little, then it will separate into lumps and at any given time, everything will be put together in a homogeneous ice cream.

The banana ice cream is ready. If you want to flavor it is the right time, for example with a pinch of salt and vanilla. Store in a taper and reserve in the freezer for a moment.

For chocolate ice cream: add 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder to 150 g of crushed banana. Crush a little more and reserve frozen.

For strawberry ice cream: crush the frozen banana and strawberry together until you get an ice cream. Store in the freezer.

To mount the banana split

Peel the bananas, cut lengthwise in half and place on a plate.

Put a scoop of ice cream of each flavor between the halves of banana.
